Meet Ayanna Ferguson

Hey there, I’m Ayanna Ferguson, founder and owner of The School of Therapy.

A part of what makes me who I am comes from what I enjoy e.g. the energy and uniqueness of NYC, new experiences that help me learn more about myself, and an abudant amount of visual art and design. I also take time to submerge in the solitude of nature, star gazing, bird watching, hikes through the woods, and bike rides by the water with friends. I’m a potato chip connoisseur, I always have a bag in the house, collecting new crunchy flavors! I dabble in the art of apothecary and herbal medicine for health and wellness, my herbal collection is growing and my knowledge is expanding. I listen to copious amounts of jazz and gospel, this appreciation was nurtured by my family, we use music to decompress. Amapiano, South African house and Afrobeats are on curated playlists that I create and dance to often.

What to Expect

Ayanna Ferguson is a Family therapist, licensed in New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts.  She embraces collaborating with people from diverse backgrounds and brings deep appreciation of identity by integrating and connecting cultural values, beliefs, and strengths of the people and communities she works with. Sessions are designed to be comfortable and low-pressure.

You will have a space to express yourself freely without judgement or diminishment. Through this process, you will improve your self awareness, communication, develop practical solutions for managing your stress, and create the peace you desire in your life.  Talk therapy is about  your thoughts, beliefs, and needs being seen, heard, and understood while introducing you to new skills, strategies and outcomes to boost your growth.
